Here comes the Sun!

Summer is coming and I thought about sharing some tips with you about protecting your skin from the sun.  Since I spend most of my days outside, I really need to take care of my skin. Here are some tips I have learned along the way:
1. Use sunscreen everyday, even during winter time. You need to find a sunscreen which works best for you. My favorite one for the face is Laroche-Posay - Anthelios - ultra light. A friend of mine introduced me to it several years ago and I just love it. For the body Neutrogena or Coppertone works really well. Remember you have to apply the sunscreen 15 minutes before leaving the house and a couple of times during the day, if you are going to be exposed to the sun for several hours. Don't forget about your lips; use a lipstick or chap-stick which contains sunscreen.





2. Wear a hat and sunglasses whenever you can

3. Drinks lots of water to keep your body hydrated. Eat fruits and vegetables that are high in antioxidants such as blue berries, cantaloupe, carrots, tomatoes and more.


4. Did you know that Vitamin D may also protect against sunburn! 

5. Wash your face with a gentle cleaner and use an exfoliant on your body. Your body and face tends to have more dead cells during the summer time. My favorite one for the face is the extra gentle cleaning foam from Shiseido. Don't forget to apply moisturizer - even though your skin looks a little less dry during the Summer, you still need to apply moisturizer to your face and body.
