150 years of Gustav Klimt

Good Morning,

I hope you had a great weekend. Today's post is a little different. It is not about fashion or food, but is about something that I also love, ART!

This last weekend was the celebration of Gustav Klimt's 150th Birthday. I couldn't let this event go by, without talking about My favorite painter. I fell in love with his amazing work when I was a teenager. I remember seeing one of his paintings for the first time in an art book, it was "The Kiss," with is one of the most famous of his paintings. It was like his painting was imprinted in my mind and it never went away. As I got older, I started to understand more about his work. Klimt's works are just breathtaking, the details, the expressions, the colors are so powerful. People describe his work as "The primal forces of sexuality, regeneration, love, and death. Some of his most famous paintings are The Kiss, Tree of Life and my favorite, Water Serpents II.

Back in 2006, when I was redecorating my Master Bedroom, I really wanted one of Klimt's paintings, "Water Serpents II," (a copy of course) for the wall behind my bed. After months of searching, I finally found it and it has been hanging on my bedroom wall ever since, as a focal point of the room. I Love that picture!
